Could Team Katie Actually Win It All?

It seems a lifetime ago when the Team Katie movement began in the winter of our auditions; a young woman of spunk and charm, singing with the power of an ancient soul conjured thoughts that a McPhee or Digarmo might be upon us, a young singer in the classic vein of the great American songbook.

After the stunning introduction, Team Katie hit a rocky patch, as she was hammered on every side during the semi-finals, the victim of such contradictory advice from the judges that Ellen was actually driven to mock their randomness. Since then, slowly but surely, under the radar the Connecticut crooner has, climbed her way out of the basement into the solid middle tier.

Idol Inferno: The Meaning of the Miley Mentorship

Some quick reactions to the stunning news that none other than herself, Miley Cyrus (not Smiley Virus) will be mentoring the Idol contestants this week.  Some out there have been mocking this news.  I however am all for it. Here are my reasons, and my ruminations on the fallout to come when Miley visits the Idoldome :
